DNC/AP Press Release
Frankly, some days I wonder when the AP/al-Reuters, etc started to serve as the DNC's PR firm. Perhaps I wasn't paying attention before. I love this story, entitled "War Turns Southern Women Away from GOP." Hillariously, they talk about President Bush's "once solid relationship with Southern women" then quote, at length, a woman who - it then emerges - didn't even vote for Bush in 2004. In fact, in the entire 800ish word article, they fail to quote even one woman who voted Republican in 2004 and now says that they aren't going to this year. They quote the first woman - this Knight woman - again, then they find a pair of women, one of whom says she was "lukewarm" for Bush in 2004 and now is undecided and another who says she still supports the President. Then, I note, they quote another woman who supports the President more strongly. In other words, in this story, they manage to quote one woman who didn't vote for Bush in the last election, one undecided, and two supporters. Jackasses. Literally.

Damn, I just scanned the article: "A recent Associated Press-Ipsos poll found that three out of five Southern women surveyed said they planned to vote for a Democrat in the midterm elections. "
How stupid are you Adam? I know that leaving out facts that disagree with your rant is par for the course with the rabid right, but in future, you might want to leave out the link to articles that DISPROVE YOUR POINT! :)

God this blog has gone downhill since the glory days of 2004.
The old Adam would have posted a 5,000 word screed slamming the Pope for apologising to Muslims within minutes of the Vatican's announcement, saying that he should have declared a holy war between Catholicism and Islam instead. Instead, we get this vacuous crap that tells us nothing about anything except its author's limited reading comprehension - which isn't exactly news.
Remember his glorious defense of Conrad Black's financial shenanigans?
If I remember rightly, it was "It's his company - he can do what he likes with it", thus blithely ignoring such trivial issues as accountability towards your shareholders - you know, the people actually underwriting his way-beyond-his-means lifestyle. As for Foley, on Adam's planet he must be totally innocent - he is, after all, a Republican. So I'm guessing Adam's coming up with some elaborate smear of his victims along the lines that they were dressed provocatively and clearly asking for it.
Overly complicated Yoshi. Clearly the pages were Democrats and it's all an Islamofascist conspiracy. Someone, somewhere needs to be injected with bleach!
Actually, now that I've thought about it a little, Adam's usual line on children being killed is that if they weren't terrorists already, that's clearly their chosen career path, so it's basically a Good Thing.
So it shouldn't take a great leap of the imagination to come up with a variation on that. True, he still has to explain exactly why Foley behaved as he did, but they were probably using some kind of mind-altering drug in a sneaky terrorist-type fashion.
They were beaming gay waves at him! Or Barney Frank looked at him once, and as we know, gay-ness is contagious!
See the problem isn't that Foley is a pedophile, that'd be hunky-dory to the Adam's of the world. No, the problem is that he's a *gay* pedophile, that's like, wrong, man!
Adam's in the clear - since he still presumably has his tongue surgically attached several inches up Dubya's rectal passage, the fact that Bush has condemned Foley means that Adam is now free to do so too.
Give him hell, Adam! Your devoted fans expect nothing less!
Just make sure that you do *NOT* condemn Foley's enablers (Hastert etc.) Bush has *NOT* condemned them for allowing a predator to roam the halls of Congress, so neither should you, Adam!
And now North Korea sets off a nuclear weapon! How can we know how to (over)react to this without the vision of Adam Yoshida!!!
